My whiteface cockatiel, Gomez loves hanging out on my shoulder. But he's not so thrilled when outdoors, what's the best way I can train him to stay on my shoulder when I'm in my backyard? My ultimate goal is to be able to go to the store with him on me and not needing to worry that he'll try to take off (emphasis on try, his flight feathers are trimmed)

i never had to train it, within a month all 4 of my parakeets strted flying to my shoulder and arms
when i have a budgie on my shoulder and one is one the ground, i put my foot in front of him or her and he or she climbs up to my shoulder
