The lesson in this video is not to move the target stick when asking for targeting; whether you’re just starting to train this behavior for the first time or your bird already knows it. Choose a spot and stick to it! Choose that spot wisely from the beginning.

I've been watching too much BirdTricks. I saw that mistake immediately.

    • @Versbreizh

You can also see that thebird respobses to her being nervous in front of the group (I understand that)

    • @samanthacrease3266

Can you recommend any books about training amazons please?

    • @carolelaw7059

Am i right in thinking that when my parrot comes to me and lifts his foot he wants picking up he's taking food from my hand just dont want to push him he's only 11 month old he's a yellow crowned amazon

    • @amandacovington2548

      I love learning from watching

    • @Friendgroupsfuntime

This was helpful because I have 2 parrots

    • @fred7352

I’m currently trying to target train a bird that just doesn’t acknowledge the stick and doesn’t want to touch it

    • @johnbrown3791

Please, tell me how better to hold as a pet, one or one pair of blue fronted amazon? I have a boy (near 4 years old ) and recent i got an 8 months old girl for him. In the last few weeks, he's become aggressive towards me. Will it be permanent or shortly? What am I supposed to do to keep him on my side? Thanks! I am very anxious and nervous about his attitude and I would like to know if he will return to me as he was before or not. What should I do? I am a poor old man who has in this world only a parrot and a few dollars a day, the vets ask me many hundreds of dollars for a little advice. Shame on them! Please can someone help me with a free advice. Thank you !

its amazing how people cant just follow instructions.

    • @sharrycrna

I have even watching too many bird tricks videos also😂. Had a dream I had a squadron
of birds that unlocked a sequence of locks to provide a “fail safe system” for the military.
Oh my…..any dream interpreters out there? And no, don’t have a bird (yet)….just watch the videos 👍🏻😂♥️

    • @hatimbhatti6974

What is the name of this item holding in your hand

    • @nanemoon9968

Who else came here because of clicker for cats? Your help is very much apreciated. Different species but similar mindset. Permission Based Training is the key.
I will set up a small camera just for myself to see where I am making mistakes.

There are a few components to training a parrot. One place I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Parrot ploy plan (check it out on google) without a doubt the most helpful guide that I have ever heard of.Check out all the super info .

    • @prasuna6502

I clicked on family friendly parrot formula, it is not coming

    • @amoebafuzz

Sure there are lots of “dog trainers” who use out dated command focused and compulsion training. But there are lots of us who use the same +R, founded in science techniques that you guys do with birds. I suspect that because dogs are domesticated they are willing to put up with more of our shit. Love watching your videos even though I don’t have a parrot. Happy training!

    • @codyarb

Does the bird needs to be hungry? Before starting the training?

    • @lucasteles97

I discovered that channel today and I am already a huge fan of these guy's, they really learn us how to train our buddies without having to buy any course or books, I love it, thank you very much!

    • @kristinaflores6853

Do you have issues with the birds grabbing your industrial bar.

    • @loopedaround5951

Thank you! I found this video very helpful. My Red Lord Amazon. and I will be much more trusting, in doing more together! But, boy she does not want anyone to try and pick her up off my shoulder. And my poor husband 🥴At first, Pippa would lunge at him. I taught her to stop 🛑 that.
She’s my little angel 😇. Most of the time lol. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. People think they can do it they’re way. But it’s about the Amazon needing you to make her feel as comfortable as possible. After all, it’s the least we can do for them since she wasn’t asked if she wanted to be caught. If that’s the case for wild and free all exotic parrots 🦜.

      Hello!

I try to make a project with holographic parrot. Can you make a video with your pretty bird (and his perch) on the black smooth background? With close plan, with all the bird is seeing. It must be just his natural behavior and speaking, hanging up or so. Duration: 20-60 mins

    • @lafAbi956

Hello I have a red lored Perrot how can I get from one point I The. Other I mean how do I stop hand feeding him to him feeding on his own can anyone help 🙏🙏

    • @evanlucas8914

Love these videos. I'm an animal lover and love to see the difference in training predator pets vs prey pets. When your pet is ancestrally predatory (dogs, cats, etc.) Your training technique needs to be dominant. You need to hold your ground and tell the animal what to do and reward it for obedience. When your pet is ancestrally prey (birds, horses, etc.) Your training technique is about give and take. You essentially entice the animal to do what you want. The reward for doing what you ask is a mix of treat and relief of stress by giving them space (even momentarily) before asking them to do it again.

    • @ShutYourTrapp729

The whole "permission-based training" really resonated with me when iI started thinking about the Amazon I worked with for about a year and a half. A lot of her cues for tricks are even already formatted as questions: "Can you sing?" "What's the kitty say?" "Can you call the kitty?" 🙂
